Arc Partnership is a joint venture between Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) and SCAPE. Formed in 2016 to support the council in creating an efficient, safe, and sustainable land and property portfolio.

We deliver multi- disciplinary property design, consultancy, master planning, regeneration, project/programme management, construction, emergency, reactive, compliance asset management and planned services on behalf of Nottingham County Council

The role will support primarily Arc Partnerships projects including their principal designer, designer and principal contractor appointments but you’ll also have the opportunity supporting the wider SCAPE Group, and Lungfish Architects.

Your new role:

We’re looking for an experienced CDM and Safety Manager from a construction / design environment background.

We believe the CDM and Safety agenda is about educating and motivating people to do the right thing, acting as an enabler at all levels, be that on site, in front of the board or at safety committees. You’ll advise, assist and monitor activities across the business to ensure compliance and deliver outcomes, ensuring the standards of performance are proportionate, maintained and compliant.

What you’ll do:

  • You’ll be responsible advising, assisting and monitoring the implementation of Health, Safety and CDM management systems across design and construction activities, delivering safe outcomes for construction projects across Nottinghamshire.
  • You’ll identify, monitor, mitigate and report on health, safety and environmental risks.
  • Report on safety, health, environmental and CDM performance in accordance with Arc Partnership requirements direct to the Managing Director
  • Review accidents, incidents, near miss, lessons learned and trend reviews
  • Maintain ISO 45001/SSIP Safety Management System external accreditations.
  • Ability to manage varying workload including some challenging deadlines

What you’ll bring:

We’re looking for you to have significant experience in a senior health and safety and CDM role, gained within a construction and design environment. This includes a practical working knowledge of construction, and hands on experience of implementing safety management systems in a construction environment.

​Essential:

​NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) ​

  • Chartered Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH)
  • Proven leadership skills, able to motivate, influence and bring about change.

Desirable:

  • ​Member of the Association of Project Safety (APS)
