Arc Partnership is a joint venture between Nottinghamshire County Council and SCAPE, formed in 2016 to support the council in creating an efficient, safe, and sustainable land and property portfolio.

We deliver multi-disciplinary services and consult, design, build, manage and maintain on behalf of the council and the communities and people it represents. Your new role:

We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team. You’ll be responsible for providing a high-quality cost management and estimating service for allocated projects.

The team is made up of 6 Quantity Surveyors and 1 Estimator, so there’s lots of opportunity to collaborate, share ideas and implement best practice.

​The projects are as interesting as they are diverse, from Major Capital projects such as the County Councils new offices at Top Wighay and new build Education projects to refurbishment projects under the County Councils School Building Improvement Programme. All our sites are based in Nottinghamshire giving you a better work life balance. You’ll also have the support of the wider team to create cost-effective, innovative approaches to even the most complex challenges.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide estimates and cost plans for projects at feasibility stage.
  • Provide cost management services.
  • Compile contract documentation with Contractors and other members of the supply chain as required.
  • Provide monthly Cost and Value Reporting for project fee incomes.
  • Maintain financial control of contractor and subcontractor accounts, including management of Compensation Event values.
  • Procurement of external design consultants and survey consultants including drafting and issuing of associated Appointments
  • Advise business stream teams on commercial and contractual matters.
  • Provide commercial management information in line with business reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that appropriate Safety, Health, and Environmental matters are addressed in all contract documents.

What you’ll bring:

We’re looking for people who want to drive change and make a significant difference by adding value and creating the best outcomes for all our projects. In addition, you will ideally have:

  • Proven construction and commercial experience.
  • A quantity surveying degree or have experience in the Quantity Surveyor space.
  • Strong commercial and contractor management skills.
  • ​Excellent team player who works well with colleagues and on their own initiative.
  • ​High levels of motivation and commitment to improve services and outcomes for customers and clients.
  • ​Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to take commercial lead and influence project teams, particularly design and operational colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and achieve challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent ICT skills.
  • You’ll have a basic understanding of sustainability in the workplace and be committed to support the business with its carbon reduction strategy.
